Using the SCOME technique, the DBA can retrieve data regarding all SQL Server Agent backup jobs on all linked servers that have not been run in the last 24 hours (Full and Transactional); used in the instance where the SQL Server SQLSERVERAGENT Service was not in a state of Started at the time of back up. In this instance, such occurances are not registered by SQL Server as having failed.

Latest successful backups and their completion dates can be listed for each corresponding SQL Server where the SQL Server Agent job was not run.

Use SCOME to interrogate the following tables to retrieve this data:

Unrun Jobs

msdb.dbo.sysjobservers, msdb.dbo.sysoriginatingservers_view, msdb.dbo.sysjobs
