SQL Server Monitor
SQL Server Monitor evolved years ago out of necessity, during my DBA'ing years; too many critical servers, one administrator and not enough resources. Out of desperation, I came up with a technique to steamline the admin, and ended up calling it SCOME (Servers Coming Outta My Ears). Today the technique is used by DBAs all over the globe and is dicussed in detail at SQLServerCentral.com, as well in the articles section of this website. SQL Server Monitor is not an application that I market for sale. This site is just a demo of what I have developed using SCOME. You can too. You'll find it very flexible allowing you to tailor the collection of status data from all your SQL Servers in one hit, something most monitoring applications do not allow you to do. SCOME scripts can be downloaded from this site or from SQLServerCentral.com.
- Almost all reports in this application collect data from remote servers using the SCOME technique.
- The reports in this application run on SQL Servers 2000 and above.
- The application is a fully customisable CMS with the ability to have as many user accounts as required i.e certain users can be set up to view specific pages.
- Is fully Ajax enabled.
Climate Hazard Mappings (SQL Server Spatial Methods)
Sole development of the online Climate Risk assessment application, used for assessing climate driven hazardous zones within residential areas in the region. The application utilises SQL Server 2008’s Spatial capabilities, the Bing Maps Geospatial platform, WPF Silverlight, WCF web services and binary encoded coordinates (to reduce network traffic thus increasing performance). This application was developed in it’s entirety by myself, along with the database creation, setup, data cleansing and importing of several hundred thousand rows (I've never claimed to be a modest man). A sample of the application that uses Australian maps can be viewed at...
